10 Ways to become a Peak Performer!
As a professional, you have paid your dues to make it to the top of
your profession. You know what it takes to be successful and your are
proud of your accomplishments. However, are you aware of what it will
take for you to maintain your current level and what it will take to
achieve higher levels of success? The following are 10 skills you must
learn and master to become and remain a Peak Performer: 2) Is becoming a high-performer really important to you? If so, you must be willing to invest the time and self-discipline necessary to achieve and maintain this new level of performance. 3) What is most important to you? If it's money and material things, you might not be able to obtain the level of a high performer. Other things are more important to this level of performance. Love, self-respect, perpetual positive attitudes and pride of accomplishment are worthy goals for the ones who will achieve great levels of performance 4) What are you willing to "put up with?" Tough times and setbacks don't discourage those who aspire to achieve greatness. When business is slow, and it is harder to find and keep customers, the high performer doesn't sit back and wait for the next business boom. They know what it takes to get out there and get the job done! 5) How much are you willing to invest? If you don't have a "whatever it takes" attitude, develop one! For if you don't, high performance isn't in your long-term future. Don't look for a short cut or an easy way out, these aren't traits of the high performer! 6) Are you willing to begin where you are today? Mid and low performers are always looking for a "head start". They would like to skip all that "dues paying" stuff and start at the head of the pack. High performers understand the importance and power of starting at the beginning and building from there. The "run from the beginning" builds a strong foundation and a winning self-confidence. 7) What would you give up if you had to? More often than not, in order to move to a new space in life, we have to let go of something in the past. It is hard for the high aerial circus performer to move to the next bar if they won't let go of the bar they are holding on to. Sometimes we have to let go to go forward! 8) Can you handle responsibility? Those who aspire to become high-performers are willing to take an additional responsibility without complaining. They know it comes with the territory. Those who can't or won't take on extra responsibilities will never join the ranks of the high performers. 9) Do you desire to become all that you can be? Reaching a predetermined goal or level does not mean you have finally arrived and now you can rest. Those who rest and don't move on are not high performers. Desiring to become a high performer requires that you are willing to constantly change and grow until you die. If you stop growing, you begin dying! 10) Can you and will you think for yourself? Many believe that hard
work is the only answer for success and high performance achievement.
Those who truly believe this will never become a high performer. The
ability to think and plan is crucial to long-term success and crucial
to the achievement of the high performer. Take the time to study the
great achievers in our history and you will find a host of thinkers!
