"POWER MEETINGS!™"
Workshop Outline ...
OVERVIEW
Today's managers and professionals are spending more and more time
in meetings. According to recent surveys, most managers spend at least
25% of their working hours in meetings. Unfortunately these same surveys
show that most meetings held today are ineffective. The average meeting
attendee wastes the equivalent of 32 person days per year due to ineffective
meetings.
The reason for this waste is simply due to a lack of meeting skills.
Most managers and professionals receive little or no training in managing
or attending meetings and in making decisions in groups. This workshop
is designed to provide managers, supervisors and employees with the
critical skills necessary to turn their ineffective meetings into Power
Meetings.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this workshop is to provide meeting leaders and participants
with the skills and the tools to make their meetings more productive.
PROCESS
Participants attend a four-hour workshop that provides them with the
knowledge and skills in proven principles and techniques for meeting
planning and decision making. Participants then practice these skills
in practical exercises and make specific action plans for improving
the meetings they attend on the job.
BENEFITS
By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
Understand the roles that meeting leaders, group members and
staff can play in effectively planning, preparing for and participating
in meetings
Contribute to meeting effectiveness regardless of their role
in the meeting
Understand and apply several useful skills for effective meetings
Identify practices which make their meetings productive or unproductive
Identify specific steps they can take to improve their meetings
